Both St. Andrews’s Shrvenham and St. Andrews’s Chaddleworth contained a lot of memorial inscriptions of interest to us genealogists.

On my last visit the condition of the churchyard was poor! This visit was a totally different experience. Hat's off to those who are tending to it!

St. Andrew's Church is a delightfully beautiful, grade I listed, 12th century country church in the pretty little village of Chaddleworth on the Berkshire Downs. It has a very attractive Norman doorway, some splendid furnishings, good family chapels and a striking collection of Georgian and Victorian memorials to local families. We happened to meet the organist and he showed us the wonderful organ which sounded tremendous. It is open every day to visitors and is certainly worth a visit.
